Atlantic Immigration Program

The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) is a pathway for skilled workers and international graduates who want to immigrate to Canada’s four Atlantic provinces: Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. This program is designed to help these provinces meet their labor market needs and support economic growth by attracting immigrants to settle in the region.

The program is employer-driven, meaning that candidates must first have a job offer from a designated employer in one of the Atlantic provinces. There are three main categories under the AIP:

  1. Atlantic High-Skilled Program: For individuals with work experience in managerial, professional, or technical/skilled trades roles (TEER 0, 1, or 2).
  2. Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program: For individuals with work experience in jobs requiring a high school diploma or job-specific training (TEER 3).
  3. Atlantic International Graduate Program: For recent graduates from a recognized post-secondary institution in one of the Atlantic provinces who have a job offer from a designated employer.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Job Offer: A full-time, non-seasonal job offer from a designated employer in one of the Atlantic provinces.
  • Work Experience: Relevant work experience based on the program category, ranging from skilled work (TEER 0, 1, or 2) to intermediate-skilled work (TEER 3).
  • Language Proficiency: A minimum CLB level of 4 (for most categories) in English or French.
  • Education: Depending on the program, you may need to have at least a high school diploma or a post-secondary education.
  • Admissibility: You must pass medical and security checks and show that you can financially support yourself and your family in Canada.

The AIP is particularly beneficial for individuals who want to settle in Canada’s Atlantic provinces, where employers are actively seeking skilled workers to help grow the regional economy.
